Original (unchanged)
With this format, the actual values are displayed in the chart without any changes.
Percentage (% change)
The percentage format shows all values in percentage terms (compared to the initial value at the beginning of the period under review). You can use this format, for example, to view the stock price performance as a percentage. The normalized format is particularly suitable for comparing several companies with each other. This format can also be used for different currencies.
For metrics that are already expressed as a percentage (e.g. EBIT margin or sales growth), percentage format is not useful.
Underwater
The underwater format shows the distance of the stock price from the all-time high in the period under review as a percentage.
This format is helpful to see how far a stock is from its all-time high and how much it has fluctuated over time.
Logarithmic (Log Chart)
On a log chart, a percentage change always looks the same size, whatever the price level. A rise from 10 to 20 (+100%) takes up the same space as a rise from 100 to 200.
It works best for long time periods and for values that have grown a lot over the years, like share price, market cap, enterprise value or revenue. Early years become easier to read, and you can compare growth rates directly.
Please note: Negative values and zero can't be shown on a log scale, so they are hidden. That's why the log view doesn't work well for metrics that fluctuate or can turn negative, such as P/E ratio, margins, net debt or free cash flow. For these metrics, use the "Original" view.
