Shares of Analog Devices (ADI) advanced Tuesday as the semiconductor maker posted better-than-anticipated results on a pickup in demand for automotive chips.
Shares in Analog Devices Inc (NASDAQ:ADI) jumped 6% pre-market on Tuesday as the chipmaker reported earnings that were higher than expected, thanks to a rebound in orders. A brief decline in bookings during its fiscal third quarter, was followed by orders picking up throughout the fourth quarter, particularly from customers in automotive markets, the company said.
Chipmaker Analog Devices topped analysts' estimates for fourth-quarter revenue and profit on Tuesday, helped by strong demand for its semiconductors used in consumer electronics and a recovery in orders from the auto industry.
