Paychex Inc (NASDAQ:PAYX), the payroll and human resources services provider, reported first-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.34 a share, as revenue rose 6% to $1.6 billion for the quarter ended August 31. Paychex said the double-digit earnings growth in its fiscal first quarter was driven by strong demand for its professional employer organization and insurance offerings.
The payroll and human-resources provider on posted a fiscal first-quarter profit of $429.7 million, or $1.21 a share, compared with $383.8 million, or $1.06 a share, a year earlier.
