Safran SA engages in the design, manufacture, and sale of aircraft, defense and communication equipment and technologies. It operates through the following business segments: Aerospace Propulsion, Aircraft Equipment, Defense & Aerosystems and Aircraft Interiors. The Aerospace Propulsion segment designs, develops, produces, and markets propulsion systems for commercial aircraft, military transport, training and combat aircraft, rocket engines, civil and military helicopters, tactical missiles and drones. The Aircraft Equipment, Defense & Aerosystems segment covers the full life cycle of systems and equipment for civil and military aircraft and helicopters. This segment is involved in landing gear and brakes, nacelles and reversers, avionics (flight controls and onboard information systems), security systems (evacuation slides, emergency arresting systems and oxygen masks), onboard computers and fuel systems. The Aircraft Interiors segment engages in the manufacture of Cabin interiors for regional, medium-haul, long-haul, business and military aircraft. The Aircraft Interiors segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets, aircraft seats for passengers (First, Business and Economy Class) and crew, as well as cabin equipment, overhead bins, class dividers, passenger service units, cabin interior solutions, chilling systems, galleys, electrical inserts and trolleys and cargo equipment. The company was founded on August 16, 1924 and is headquartered in Paris, France.
