The Netherlands has signed a letter of intent with ​Sweden to acquire a Saab ‌GlobalEye advanced military surveillance aircraft, the Dutch government said on Friday.

Swedish defence ‌group Saab said on Wednesday it had received an order ​worth around 2.9 billion ​crowns ($302.99 million) from Sweden for ⁠continued work on future ​military aircraft.

STOCKHOLM, July 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab has received an order for two GlobalEye aircraft from a country in the Middle East region. The order value is SEK 10.1 billion, and deliveries will take place in 2030.

Saab ​has received an order for ‌two GlobalEye surveillance aircraft from a country in the Middle East region ​worth 10.1 billion Swedish ​crowns ($1.04 billion), with deliveries in 2030, ⁠the Swedish company said ​on Monday.

Swedish defense company Saab beat earnings expectations in the second quarter amid booming demand for military equipment. Order backlog amounted to 317.7 billion crowns, up from 197.6 billion a year ago and marking a fifth straight quarter of a growing order book.

The Swedish defense company backed its medium-term growth guidance after signing several large orders recently.

Swedish defence and aerospace ‌group Saab reported a bigger-than-expected rise in operating earnings for the ​second quarter on Friday ​as booming demand in its major ⁠markets drove a sharp ​rise in sales and order bookings.
