The lender said the new target applies through 2027, but warned of uncertainty amid geopolitical tensions.

Swedish banking group Swedbank said on Wednesday it was setting a target of at least 15% return on equity in the coming years, in line with a previous goal running through this year, and said geopolitical tensions were creating uncertainty.

Swedish banking group Swedbank reported a first-quarter net profit above expectations on Tuesday but said that trade conflicts had dampened economic recovery in the bank's markets.

Sweden's Swedbank and Norway's SpareBank 1 alliance will establish a jointly owned Nordic investment bank by expanding the Norwegian group's SpareBank 1 Markets operation, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
