Norwegian police said on Tuesday they ‌are investigating Telenor on suspicion that the telecoms operator aided and abetted crimes against humanity in Myanmar following a military coup in the Southeast Asian nation in 2021.

Telenor's second-quarter performance was hit by tough year-on-year comparables, the timing of commercial initiatives, transformation costs and a challenging macro situation in Bangladesh.

The company agreed to buy the 50.8% stake held by Bahnhof's founders and the 6.7% stake held by Oresund Investment.

(Fornebu, 10 June 2026) Telenor has agreed to acquire Enivest, one of the leading fibre operators in Western Norway, in a transaction valued at NOK 2.5 billion. The acquisition includes Enivest's fibre network and approximately 28,000 customers, as well as a 34 per cent stake in Årdalsnett, which has around 3,000 customers.
